Tampa Family Law Mediators
Vivian brings more than a decade of family law experience to the table at every mediation. As an attorney, Vivian has represented people from all walks of life. Her experience ranges from high-conflict custody and parenting cases to divorces that present complex financial financial issues. Vivian has also served as a court-appointed Guardian Ad Litem, which gives her a special perspective in parenting cases. Vivian's practice has also provided her an opportunity to mediate and help resolve a wide variety of family disputes.
Vivian is a graduate of the Florida State University College of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor in 2002. She also received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Florida State.
Vivian is an active member and leader in the Hillsborough County Bar Association. She serves on the Executive Board of the HCBA's Family Law Section. She is also and active member of the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association, Hispanic Professional Women's Association, Inc., and the Tampa Latin Chamber of Commerce.
Vivian was formerly a member of the Family Law Inn of Court, Hillsborough County Association of Women Lawyers, and a volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Vivian has formerly served as an Adjunct Professor at Southwest Florida College and as a Staff Attorney with Bay Area Legal Services, which she was dedicated to working to support victims of domestic violence.
Vivian enjoys mediation because it allows her to interface with both parties in a family law case. She takes pride in serving as a neutral facilitator and working to help parties resolve their disputes. Vivian makes no assumptions, and she does not favor any party in a mediation.
Vivian feels that mediation is the best path for bringing peace and closure in family law cases. Vivian is an advocate for mediation because she feels that confidentiality allows parties to be open about their concerns in an environment that is conducive to resolving disputes.
As a mediator, Vivian listens carefully to both parties and works with them to establish goals. She leans on her family law experience to propose creative solutions that can potentially benefit the parties and their children.
